Our Curricula Defined
The Nebraska National Guard’s Drug Demand Reduction Team coordinates the utilization of National Guard resources and personnel in direct support of organizations’ drug awareness and prevention efforts. DDR support is available throughout the year at NO COST! Key to our success is a clear recognition that we are a support agency. Our role is to enhance the efforts of agencies/organizations that we support utilizing missions approved by regulation.

Programs Offered
DDR Support can include, but is not limited to the following areas:
  • Enhancing existing drug education programs
  • Assisting with anti-drug displays
  • Military personnel as role models, mentors and guest speakers
  • Audience appropriate, tailored programs on alcohol and drug awareness, life skills, teamwork, leadership, decision making, choices, and media literacy.
  • "Fatal Vision" driving course
  • Coalition building
  • ROPES course facilitation
  • Resource Support

Services
DDR Support can be provided to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, community based organizations and education institutions that have an anti-drug focus in their event or activity. All DDR support must have the primary purpose of encouraging members of the public to resist the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. Missions can be supported throughout the state of Nebraska.

Constraints

  • DDR cannot support events that do not focus on an anti-drug message.
  • Military medical support and military security personnel cannot be provided.
  • Military transportation is a limited asset that can be arranged only on a case-by-case basis.
  • Purchase of supplies or loan of equipment without direct involvement of DDR Staff, either military or civilian, cannot be granted.
